We're here to serve you
Sara Stuart, D.O.
Kevin Hodnett, M.D.
Dr. Kevin Hodnett grew up in College Station, Texas. During his undergraduate studies, he served an extended two year mission trip where he learned Spanish and discovered a fondness for serving others. This love of service led him to a career in medicine. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University, completed medical school at the University of Texas at Houston Health Science Center, and finished training at the Seneca Lakes Family Medicine Program in South Carolina as chief resident. He has been serving the rural community of Brady, Texas for the past two years.
In his practice, he observed that the limited time afforded to patients during visits did not do the patient-physician relationship justice. Dr. Hodnett began a search for a better way to deliver care and discovered the direct primary care model. He joined Cibolo Family Medicine so that he could listen to his patients and dig deeper into their concerns in order to provide personalized healthcare. Dr. Hodnett recognizes that patients have a choice and is grateful for the individuals and families that entrust their care to him. He enjoys treating all ages. He believes in assessing the physical, spiritual, and emotional variables before reaching a shared decision with patients. A self-described lifetime learner, he humbly admits when he does not have the answers, but will seek the best sources for the benefit of his patients.
Dr. Hodnett met his wife while attending Texas A&M University. They are the proud parents of five beautiful children. He is a family man, enjoys outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and camping, and encourages lively debate.
Ashley Sommerhalder, M.D.
Dr. Sommerhalder is a Texas-native, growing up in the North Texas suburbs of Dallas. She attended the University of Texas at Dallas where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology before embarking on the exciting journey of medical school at Ross University School of Medicine on the Caribbean island of Dominica. Dr. Sommerhalder finished her training in New York City before finally making her way back south to complete her residency in Family Medicine at Louisiana State University in Shreveport.
While practicing full-spectrum Family Medicine in Shreveport, Dr. Sommerhalder treated patients in clinic, hospital, and urgent care settings. It was there that she realized the significant limitations that traditional fee-for-service models placed on the time and care she could provide her patients. After learning about the Direct Primary Care model at a national conference, Dr. Sommerhalder knew this was the best way to provide the in-depth, personalized care she felt her patients deserved. She enjoys both teaching and learning from her patients, helping them to take interest and ownership of their own health. Dr. Sommerhalder believes the patient-physician relationship is the cornerstone of primary care and the development of long-lasting relationships is one of her favorite parts of being a primary care doctor.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Sommerhalder enjoys spending time with her family including her husband David, who is a local hematologist-oncologist, and three children. They are excited to be back in their home state after years of travel and training and hope the hill country will become their forever home.
Karos Muñoz, D.O.
Dr. Karos Muñoz is a Latina-born, bilingual physician native to Wichita Falls, TX. Dr. Muñoz studied at Austin College in Sherman, TX, where she obtained a Bachelors in Biology in Spanish. Prior to attending medical school, she obtained her Masters in Medical Science from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. She was then accepted to the University of Incarnate Word, School of Osteopathic Medicine, where she fell in love with San Antonio. While in school she enjoyed all aspects of medicine and she felt a calling to Family Medicine as her specialty of choice.

From there, she was placed a little closer to home, back in North Texas, at HCA Medical City, Fort Worth, where she fostered her passion for treating patients of all ages and backgrounds. Her main goal is to guide her patients with a holistic approach, taking care to help them better understand their diagnoses, and how to address them. Trained in osteopathy in both medical school and residency, she learned the importance of treating patients with full-spectrum, hands-on and personalized care, where she is able to form intentional relationships with her patients. She advocates for preventative practices such as nutrition and exercise-based interventions in order to help her patients create healthy life-long habits. She is certified to perform multiple in-office procedures, including Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT). However, she will always be willing to help her patients navigate specialties they may require outside of her clinic.

Throughout residency, she was often met with the limitations of the fee-for-service system, which she felt stifled her ability to spend adequate time with her patients to help them achieve their goals. In her search for the next step in her career, her goal was to move into Direct Primary Care, where she could be of better service as a physician, and discovered Cibolo Family Medicine. She is thrilled to be joining a group of medical professionals who share in her mission to be the best doctor she can be for her community.
Dr. Muñoz is a newlywed as of October 2023 and she and her husband are beyond excited to finally be moving back to the place where their story started. They are avid travelers and love to explore the world with family and friends in their free time. Whenever they aren’t doing that, they can be found with their Great Pyrenees/Lab mix, Leon, who loves walks to grab the occasional pup cup. They can’t wait to be reunited with San Antonio to begin making new memories as a family.
