Direct Primary Care connects convenient access, a stronger physician relationship, preventive care, and predictable primary care costs.

A Simpler Relationship With Primary Care

Your membership makes room for better medicine.

In a traditional fee-for-service system, primary care can become shaped by short appointment windows, insurance requirements, and the pressure to see more patients each day.

Direct Primary Care changes that relationship. Members pay the practice directly through a monthly fee, allowing our physicians to care for a smaller patient panel and spend more time listening, educating, following up, and planning ahead.

The result is primary care that can feel calmer, clearer, and more connected.

Membership and Insurance

Direct Primary Care is not health insurance.

Your membership covers primary care through Cibolo Family Medicine. It does not replace insurance for emergencies, hospital care, specialists, imaging, or other services outside the practice.

Many patients keep traditional insurance, a health-sharing plan, VA benefits, or another form of coverage. Insurance can still be used for eligible labs, imaging, specialists, hospital care, and other services outside membership.

When outside testing is needed, members may choose negotiated self-pay rates for many labs and imaging services or use insurance when appropriate.

Questions About Direct Primary Care

Clarity before you join.

Membership should feel understandable from the beginning. These are the questions patients most often ask when considering the model.

What is Direct Primary Care?

Direct Primary Care is a membership-based model that creates a direct relationship between patients and their primary care practice. Members pay a predictable monthly fee for ongoing access to comprehensive primary care.

Is Direct Primary Care health insurance?

No. Direct Primary Care is not health insurance. Many members keep a high-deductible or other insurance plan for specialists, hospital care, emergencies, imaging, and services outside the membership.

Can I use insurance for other healthcare needs?

Yes. Your membership simplifies primary care at Cibolo Family Medicine, while insurance may still be used for covered care outside the practice, subject to your plan.

How quickly can members get an appointment?

Same-day or next-day availability whenever possible is a core part of the membership experience. Timing depends on clinical need and current availability.

Does membership include children?

Children can join with a parent membership. Cibolo Family Medicine provides relationship-based family medicine for individuals, children, and families.
